National Flower of Pakistan (Common Jasmine)

Different countries of the world select their common plants or flowers to represent their geographical location. A flower was used primarily by Canada and Australia as the national symbol and later it was followed in many countries of the world. Some countries have followed their centuries old historic or religious significance of any particular flower of plant and adopted that officially.........
The five petal of jasmine represent
the four provinces and center of Pakistan.

Finally i have to discuss about Jasmine that is known as the national flower of Pakistan. In Pakistan, this flower is called as ‘Yasmin ‘ which is a Persian word meaning” A Gift of Nature”. In the local language, Jasmine is also known as ‘Chanbeli‘. Pakistan has ideal warm and hot climate foe the growth of all of the type of Jasmine. The exotic color of Jasmine is considered as the symbol of peace. With the fantastic fragrance and different petals together, Jasmine symbolizes the unity of the people of different cultures and languages in Pakistan.
In Pakistan, Chamebli is quite common all over Pakistan. Because of its attractive scent, the white jasmine symbolizes attachment and represents friendliness and modesty. Chambeli also has been the central subject of poetry and been described as a symbol of beauty and purity in poetic verses and works. It also provides the artistic adorning to the landscape.
Flowering in Jasmines takes place in summer or spring which is usually six months after planting. The Jasmine flower releases its fragrance at night after the sun has set and especially when the moon is waxing towards fullness. Jasmine flower buds are more fragrant than the flowers.
There exists a true Jasmine and a false Jasmine, and the two are commonly mistaken for each other because of the fragrance the plants release. The true Jasmine belongs to the family Oleaceae and is primarily a bushy shrub or a climbing vine and is non-poisonous.True Jasmines have oval, shiny leaves and tubular, waxy-white flowers.
The false Jasmine on the other hand is in a completely different genus, Gelsemium, and family, Loganiaceae, which is considered too poisonous for human consumption.
Now i must let you in on a secret that Jasmine is the national flower of 3 countries including Pakistan, Philipines and Indonesia, and Arabian Jasmine is native to India, Philippines, Myanmar and Sri Lanka. This is the amazing fact that is rarely known in Pakistan.
